The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of bishops who jointly exercise pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
La Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de los Estados Unidos (USCCB, por sus siglas en inglés) es una asamblea de la jerarquía episcopal que ejerce conjuntamente funciones pastorales en nombre de los fieles cristianos de los Estados Unidos y las Islas Vírgenes de los Estados Unidos.
Mission
The mission of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is to be a means by which
the bishops exercise in a communal and collegial manner certain pastoral functions entrusted to them by the Lord Jesus of sanctifying, teaching, and governing “in order to promote the greater good which the Church offers to humanity” (CIC, c. 447).
La misión de la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de los Estados Unidos es ser un medio por el cual los obispos ejerzan de manera comunitaria y colegiada ciertas funciones pastorales que les confió el Señor Jesús: santificar, enseñar y gobernar, “para promover el bien mayor que la Iglesia ofrece a la humanidad” (CIC, c. 447).
